Dr. Alan Wilson, C.Eng., BSc., PhD.

Dr. Alan has experience as Founder and Chairman of the UK Computer Aided Maintenance Management Group. He was the initiator, with colleagues, of the commercial maintenance management system named Rapier.

He is currently assisting the National Operations and Maintenance Standards Committee on a project to improve O&M performance throughout the Government Establishments.

Dr. Alan has represented the UK at the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies, represents the British Standards Institute, and is a founder member of the International Maintenance Association.

He was the author of Computerized Maintenance Management, a book on the scope and implementation of maintenance systems.

​

His respected Guide, ‘Asset Maintenance Management – Developing Strategy and Improving Performance’ was originally published in English by IBE Publications, and subsequently by Industrial Press of New York, and was translated into Arabic and Chinese.

His more recently published book is titled: “Asset Management – with a Focus on Maintenance
