Hana Pacaiova  

Hana Pačaiová, prof. Ing. PhD.

She is currently serving as a Professor at the Faculty of Aeronautics, Technical University of Košice, Slovak Republic.

For more than 20 years, she worked at the Department of Safety and Quality of Production at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Košice. She is a professor in the field of Technical Systems Safety. Her professional focus is on risk management, particularly in areas such as prevention of major industrial accidents (SEVESO), pipeline integrity management (PIMS), machinery safety, and maintenance management (RCM, TPM, RBI).

She is a member of the Board of the Slovak Maintenance Society, a member of the Committee of the Association of Technical Diagnosticians of the Slovak Republic, and a member of the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS) – European Health, Safety and Environment Commitee.

She is the author and co-author of more than 320 scientific works, including 22 educational books and publications.

Her practical experience is closely linked to collaboration with industry and participation in several national research projects supported by European Structural Funds. She was the principal investigator of two international projects (European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, Bilbao) and the iNTegRisk project (7th Framework Programme), as well as an expert in the Twinning Project (Czech Republic/Slovakia, 2007).

Within the Leonardo da Vinci Programme, she collaborated with the University of Luton, UK, on the project titled "Improving Vocational Training in the Field of TQM in Industrial Maintenance by Applying On-the-Job Training Methods".

She is a specialist in the prevention of major industrial accidents and a member of the Expert Board of the Commission for the Prevention of Major Industrial Accidents (Decision of the Minister of Environment of the Slovak Republic, July 7, 2015, No. 25/2015-3-2).

Since December 2021, she has also been recognized as a CMSE® – Certified Machinery Safety Expert by PILZ GmbH & Co. KG.
