David Mierau

David Mierau is a global consultant of asset management, operational excellence, reliability engineering and maintenance management. He is currently serving as Vice President of Life Cycle Engineering leading the commercial and municipal business division, overseeing a team of subject matter experts working across multiple industry and government sectors.

David’s professional experience includes mechanical systems design, process engineering, capital portfolio and project management, facilities management, IT/OT, automation, digital, reliability engineering, supply chain, safety and environmental, quality, maintenance and operations. He has held positions ranging from technical subject matter expert to senior leadership roles with thousands of indirect reports in the pharmaceutical and discrete manufacturing industries. David has consulted within many sectors including manufacturing, transportation, facilities, mining and public utilities.

A key area of current focus includes helping organizations achieve their core mission through development of world class asset management and operational excellence programs. David’s philosophy includes enhancing traditional engineering first principles by leveraging current digital technology. He delivers private and public education instruction, has taught courses at the university level, develops industry technical standards through professional committees, publishes thought leadership content and presents topics at international conferences.

David is a licensed Professional Engineer in the USA, a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, a Prosci Certified Change Management Professional and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Graduate Certificate in Finance from the University of Chicago.
